Cheddar and Friends
I had an opportunity to photograph Jacob's kittens, Cheddar, Izzie, and siblings today.... even though Jacob wasn't home! It was a riot! The kittens are just 6 weeks old, and all of them have homes already. I can't stay away from these things!

Check out the photos from just a few days ago here....

All the adults and kids are pretty excited about the kittens, but you can tell that Joe, the dog, isn't interested whatsoever! He can't get away fast enough!

Leaving Lake Clark National Park in Alaska
On Tuesday we had to say goodbye to this wonderful wilderness and our great hosts James and Sheila Issac at the Alaska Homestead Lodge. There's only two ways out - by boat or by plane and we took a Natron Air seven seater plane. The kids loved it - but this momma was a little nervous!

These planes land on the beach at low tide - they say it's a great landing strip - but it took us a little while to get used to!

This last photo is of Mount Redoubt - a volcano 30 miles from the lodge which has been active this summer! And we even experienced a 5.2 magnitude earthquake which we felt while there! It was centered much further north than us, but it was the first earthquake we've ever actually felt!

Bye James & Sheila, Scott, Simon & Emily - we'll see you again soon!

You can always tell Heather's opinions quite quickly these days (a preteen)! She loved it there and did NOT want to leave!

And I am usually happy to get home after a vacation, but this was different. I shed some tears leaving Lake Clark and the Homestead. The whole experience was one of the best four days in my life! It was an amazing experience! I have never seen Kirk so relaxed and happy!

But the recipe for "Kirk Happiness" could be dangerous. Or dangerously expensive! It took almost 3 weeks off work, two days of fishing in the Kenai River, and four days away from civilization and next to grizzlies to finally get the guy to relax & nap & enjoy life!

Fellow photographer Amanda Tipton of Kokoro Photography helped out as my assistant and took many of these great photos. The reception location, The Lodge & Spa at Breckenridge, is ideal for mountain weddings!

I sure love my job - photographing beautiful couples in these beautiful Colorado mountains is great fun!

Kate & Kevin's Fabulous Keystone Wedding!
Kate & Kevin had the most beautiful wedding on July 28th at Keystone's back ranch. To view the whole slideshow online CLICK HERE.
A big thanks to my second shooter Joan Evans for helping me out!

We had to get to the wedding site by horse drawn wagons, which is part of the fun!

And then Kate & Kevin are a spectacular couple to photograph in this beautiful place - EVERYONE was smiling all day - even us photographers!

Taryn & Matt's Beautiful Wedding at Lost Creek Ranch
Taryn & Matt were married at a beautiful ranch north of Silverthorne, called Lost Creek Ranch. It is a large log home that can be rented out for weddings and can sleep up to 24 guests. It has a beautiful backdrop of the Gore Range which makes for beautiful wedding photos and Taryn & Matt were adorable! What a difference from the streets of Manhattan where they live! Here are a few of our favorite images or you can CLICK HERE FOR THE SLIDESHOW:
