Cover Photo Contest for Parade of Homes Magazine!

We just received this notice from the Summit County Builder's Association about a photo contest for the cover of this year's Parade of Homes Magazine in Summit County.

Last year's cover photo by Dave Peterman of Lone Tree/Denver.

2010 Summit County Parade of Homes, Photo Contest $200 Prize

It's time to select the cover art for the 2010 Summit County Parade of Homes glossy program. We're looking for the perfect scenic shot depicting Summit County's natural beauty....

Open to amateurs and professionals. For details and entry forms, contact Caroline Graf at cgraf@nci.com or call Jane at the Summit County Builders Association at 970-668-6013. Photos must be a vertical format and available in a hi-res format.

Merry Christmas from Keystone Resort!

We were able to spend a little time ice skating on Christmas Eve at Keystone Resort, and it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Only 5 degrees, but there were lots of other families out ice skating and enjoying the cold weather.

And Mommy got to spend a little time with her 85mm 1.4 Nikkor Lens - great in low light, but I had a little trouble getting the focus right! And my white balance was a little off with some of the lights on Keystone Pond and the hockey rink lights - but I was able to take some good photos at 3200 ISO.

Collin's Senior Portraits at Keystone

We took Collin's Senior Portraits at Keystone, Colorado, and had him bring his guitar along - I hadn't seen Collin since he was 7 or 8 and boy has he grown into a handsome young man! We had a great time and I love the addition of his guitar as WELL as the handmade shoes by his girlfriend!

We had ALMOST had to cancel due to weather, but I'm so glad it all worked out! There were a couple raindrops in one of the photos that I had to edit out, but nothing much!

Didi's Senior Portraits

My friends Deb, and her 17 year old daughter Didi traveled all the way from Lincoln, Nebraska to visit AND we shot her senior portraits! It was a blast! Lots of great fall colors, outdoors shots, and a few fun shots in the studio and with the KITTENS!

Lauren & Brian's Ski Tip Lodge Wedding July 11th 2009

Lauren & Brian were married at the Ski Tip Lodge on July 11th - one of my favorite romantic wedding venues!

A little rain in the afternoon (right at ceremony time) didn't dampen the fun and celebration - sometimes rain makes things even that much more romantic and memorable! And as you can see from the photos below - the sun came out after the ceremony and everyone enjoyed a little of Summit County's great outdoors!

I love it when couples just "go with the flow" when a downpour happens right before their wedding ceremony - it's a great signal that they are approaching life with a great attitude - there will be rain and sun in every day of life, and it's best to embrace it all!

Congratulations Lauren & Brian! May life bring you more sunshine than downpours, and if not, enjoy the downpours in a cozy place together!














I've noticed more & more how technology enters the wedding photography field - I have more & more photos of LCD screens in my proofs - and I love some of the interactions it brings! And LOVE that I can usually capture a photo of the event through another LCD screen!

Keystone Mountain Day Before Heather & Andrew's Wedding!

Heather & Andrew were married last month, and the day before the wedding, they had everyone meet on the mountain at Keystone and either Ski or Snowboard....it was a wonderful fun day for all involved (including the photographer!)
