Children's Portraits - Meet Kade and Gabriel!

I love photographing babies in their own homes - they seem so much more comfortable. Last week I was able to photograph Kade and Gabriel at their own house and I love the way they turned out! My favorite photos of 6 month old Gabriel are in her own little nursery - the light was great, and she was as comfortable as ever! Although brother Kade and the whole family were very photogenic too so that always helps a photo shoot!

And I love photographing babies in diapers - there's something so natural and fun about seeing all those cute rolls (sorry Gabriel - that's a great thing to have at six months old!)

Miles turns 9 months....

Miles was an amazing subject at his 6 month photo session, but at 9 months we added the whole family, and I think I like some of these even more!

9 months is a great age to photograph because babies are sitting up strong and really responsive, but they aren't walking yet, and can't run away from the photographer! And I loved this set of Tshirts that mom bought with the big brother, big sister theme! Adorable little family!

Hamilton Turns 7 months!

Hamilton is joining two big brothers in the Preaus family - and as cute as all three boys are and all the boys together - I love when I get to do some photos of baby and mom alone....so Hamilton isn't overshadowed by his older brothers (cute as they are!)

I love using a little natural window light as in the first two photos....the baby stays engaged looking out the window...and I get that sweet light on his face! Doesn't Hamilton look like a little model in some of these photos?

Dax is 6 months old!

Dax and sister Anna came in for his six month old portraits....but we had a little trouble getting 2 year old Anna to sit down for photos - a typical response from an active 2 year old with more to do than sit & smile over & over & over again!

I love capturing babies between 6 months and 9 months old, because they are full of smiles (most of the time) and sitting up and engaging with others, but they aren't walking yet, and can't walk off the backdrop! And I love the Dax bag from LLBean - we had some fun with that!

Taylor is 6 months old!

I love photographing babies! Especially happy babies like Taylor! She never once cried or even fussed and she was under the lights for a full hour! She even has a cute little habit of nodding her head energetically, implying, "YES, YES, YES!" I could have photographed her all day long!

As it gets close to the holidays, I get to dig out some festive things, santa hats and reindeer antlers....sometimes they work and sometimes they don't! But Taylor did pretty well with them!
