Inspiring Bike Ride Across the West!
My friend and neighbor here in Summit County, Chris Waugh, rode his bike from Colorado Springs to Half Moon Bay in November in honor of his Mom, Barb Waugh, who passed away in October at the age of 58. A beautiful woman, a great mom, wife, daughter - she too was an inpiration!

Chris's journey was just covered in our local newspaper, the Summit Daily News - CLICK HERE to read the whole story! Prepare to be inspired!
Chris chronicled his journey through modern technology....reporting in on his BLOG from a PDA and taking photos with his cell phone! Apparently he had a larger better camera starting out, but traded it in as it was too heavy to bike with everyday! He rode a total of 1,600 miles and took 19 days to ride from Colorado Springs, Colorado to Half Moon Bay, California! By himself through the desert! And while on the road his website got 9,000 hits!
I've copied a few photos from his blog and encourage you to read his whole story on his blog! Thanks for the inspiration Chris!
Here's a favorite post on the second to last day of his ride....136 miles! YIKES!
Maybe it's because I don't like to ride more than 5 or 6 miles at a time that it seems to amazing to me!
